Timed Data

  • Updated

Every title in PDX has a Timed Data tab. This tab allows the user to add runtimes for different platforms, chapters, and other metadata related to the title.

In this article, we will cover:

Adding A Platform

To add data to this tab, after creating a title, click on the Timed Data on the title page:

By default, no data will be present here. To start adding timed data, click on the blue Add Platform button to the right:

A window to add platform will appear.

Select the platform that the data, where the data will be entered.

Click Save. The platform will now appear in the Timed Data tab for the title page. Multiple platforms can be added here for the same title.

Clicking the platform to expand it will allow the user to start entering Timed Data Types and Chapter Names information.

Timed Data Types

If a user selects Apple TV Plus as the Platform, users see "Timed Data Types" as an additional field to utilize.

This metadata represents the time stamps on the platform that capture the Intro, Credit, and End of the program itself and should also be represented in the data package delivered to the platform. The user should refer to that data before proceeding.

Users can start by adding one of the three Timed Data Types:

  • Main End: This timestamp generally represents when the content ends.
  • Credit: This timestamp represents when the platform's credits begin.
  • Intro:  This timestamp represents when the platform's skip intro function begins.

When adding the corresponding runtime metadata to the Timed Data fields, the user is expected to enter them in the correct sequence and correct Start In and Start Out times in hours, minutes, seconds, and frame (HH:MM:SS:FF).

  • Sequence: Represents the order each data type will play in for the specific program.
  • Start In: Represents when the Credit or Intro begins.
  • Start Out: Represents when the Credit or Intro Ends.

To add more Timed Data types, the user can click "+Timed Data Types". This will add another row. From here, the user may select a new Timed Data Type from the drop-down menu.

Once selected, the Sequence for the new type will automatically adjust to the next sequential number. The user should then enter the next Start In and Start out time.

Once entered, the user should click Save in the lower right. They should receive a confirmation that the Timed Data was saved at the top of the UI:

Chapter Names

After selecting the platform, users may add Chapter Names. To do this, the user must first add the amount of chapters to have.

If the user wishes to remove or add chapters, they may also select the drop-down again and select a higher or lower number. The user can also click "+ Chapter Name" to incrementally add one chapter name at a time.

Once the appropriate number of chapters are added, the user must enter the Chapter Name along with any necessary information for the Chapter.

  • Language - A drop-down menu to select the language or enter the language code.
  • Chapter Start Time - Entered in hours, minutes, seconds, and frame (HH:MM:SS:FF).
  • Chapter Image Time - Entered in hours, minutes, seconds, and frame (HH:MM:SS:FF).

After entering the information, click Save.

Any chapter information that has been entered for the title will now appear there. The user may return to that Chapter Name's row and change the Chapter Name, Language, Start Time, or Image Time.
