A playlist is a compilation of video assets organized in a specific order. Playlists are built around both TV and Features to add and order both skippable and non-skippable Pre and Post Roll assets.
This allows users to add Pre and Post Roll assets directly to the title, designate if they will be skippable or not, change the air order with a simple drag and drop, duplicate playlists to other territories, and initiate orders directly from that page in the UI.
Users will navigate to Playlist tab in the title page to see the available options. It's worth mentioning that users can create playlists at any level of the hierarchy in Features or Episodic.
Under the Playlists tab are three view options "Active, Playlists", "Placeholder Playlists", and "History." Only under Placeholder and Active views can a user create a playlists.
Users may also notice a list of Playlist that already exist. They may expand the Playlist bar by clicking the right arrow to explore the playlists available.
Once expanded, all playlists will be displayed below the bar. If none have been created yet, it will say, "No Playlists Found."
Creating a Playlist
To begin creating a playlist, The open field at the right, under the Playlist bar, will say "Select Action." Click into that field to open the drop down menu. Choose "Create New Playlist."
A new window will open and display the corresponding Provider Title, Provider, Provider Title ID, and the Variant ID.
The red asterisks denote the mandatory fields a user must complete. Those mandatory fields include: Playlist Name, and Platform.
Once those fields are completed, click "Create." Playlists can be saved without any assets being attached yet.
Now the playlist is created and users can open the playlist by clicking on the blue button labeled 'View Assets." This will open the playlist and display the Platform, Provider Title ID, Experience ID and Territory.
Add Assets To Playlist
Users may add assets to the playlist during it's creation. Otherwise, users may also opt to add assets after creating the playlist.
To begin, users can add assets by clicking the "View Assets" button in the Playlist view of choice. This will expand the playlist and make assets attached, visible.
To add assets to the playlist, the user must click the "+ Add to Playlist" option on the lower left of the expanded playlist list in view.
A new window will open. Clicking the right arrow on the "Playlist Item" bar will show all assets associated to that playlist. The numeric value shows how many assets are associated.
When expanded, the details of those assets will be displayed. If there are no assets yet associated, the message "No Playlist Items Found" will be displayed.
Searching For Assets To Add
From here the user my find and select the correct assets by searching under "Add Assets" users can search and filter for the desired assets by any of these fields; Keyword, Title Type, Asset Content Type, Language, Season No, or Episode No.
Keyword will return all assets that fit the criteria.
Adding filters will narrow search results according to the criteria.
Once results include the desired assets to be added to the playlist, users must designate if it is "Pre Roll" or "Post Roll" from the drop down menu. Users designate if it is to be skippable by checking the box under "Skippable." Then click the blue + to add it to the "Playlist Items" at the top. Once all the assets in this search are included in the "Playlist Items," click the blue "Add" button on the bottom right.
Navigating Playlist Items
Added assets appear under Playlist Items at the Top.
This will close the pop-up window, and the assets are shown under the playlist. They are separated by Pre Roll on the top, and Post Roll on the bottom.
The gray x button on the left will remove any unwanted assets.
Click the six dots on the left of an asset to change the order by clicking and dragging.
The number under "Position" verifies the run order.
Users can collapse the view by clicking the blue "View Assets" button on the top left.
When collapsed, all playlists are visible.
Duplicate Playlists
Now the drop down menu in the "Select Action" box allows users to "Create New Playlist" or if a playlist is clicked, "Duplicate Playlist."
