Filter Subscriptions

  • Updated

Filter Subscriptions allow admin users to set default filters for other users in their organization. This allows admins to set up custom fields at the time of onboarding a new user to Media Portal to streamline their focus on assets relevant to projects.

Please note that prior to setting up filter subscriptions, admins will need to make sure they have an existing filter to subscribe users to. Please refer to this article for information on how to do so.

Filter Subscriptions can be modified within Media Portal at any given time. To do so, click on the top right user icon and navigate to Settings Management.

This will take users to the following page. Click into the tab Media Portal.

Here, users will see all existing filters sorted by inventory group.

Expanding each inventory group will list subcategories, and expanding said subcategories will take users to a list of subscriptions filters.

To edit, click on the edit icon corresponding to the row.

Here, users can subscribe other users to the respective filter. Click on the Subscribed Users filter and add each user to the subscribed filter.

If setting the filter as the default filter is all that's needed, click accept and set subscription to YES. Click on the checkbox on the edit column to save the edit.

Go back and click on the Edit icon. Click on the Default toggle and accept the prompt.

Now all users included in the subscribed user list will see this filter as their default view.

The Notification Type and Frequency fields are relevant if admins would like subscribed viewers to receive notifications whenever a new asset is added to the filter. Please note that no notifications will be sent if frequency is set to Never.
