This article will go over how to create a new Film/Feature title in PDX.
Note: Before creating a new title, Franchise must be created first. See here for more information.
This can be done on any PDX page, but click on "Create Title" in the left hand menu.
This will redirect to a form similar to the below. By default PDX will populate information needed to create a Feature title as noted by Category = Feature.
Users can create title pages for other types of content (Ancillary, Episodic, etc) but this documentation will only cover Feature. Documentation on how to create other title types can be found here.
Users can further define what type of Feature content this is via the Type field.
All required fields (denoted with a red Asterisk *) must be populated to create a Feature title. These required fields are:
- Provider - Service or studio providing film
- Franchise - Franchise film is associated with
- (Type) Title - Name of film
- Country of Origin - Where the film was created. Defaults to United States
- Original Spoken Language - Language the film was originally distributed as. Default to EN
- Version - Version of the film (ex. uncensored, directors cut, etc)
Note, although this field isn't required we highly recommend that a Provider Title ID be inputted. This will allow users to easily search for the title.
Some other optional fields are listed below:
- Production ID* - an internal ID used in the production.
- Provider Title ID* - a studio specific ID that is correlated to all records of a user's title across all retailers and territories
- HD Vendor ID* - User generated ID that is used to track the title as it is delivered to the retailer. HD Vendor ID is not required for delivery, but can be helpful if users wish to have a distinct ID
By default all titles will be created as if the content is the Providers original content. This can be adjusted by toggling the Is Original slider.
The Entertainment Identifier Registry (EIDR) is an external registry where filmmakers and retailers register their titles. EIDR offers a single repository for filmmakers and retailers to view all titles, versions and data around them. For more information, click here.
- EIDR Level 1 - ID's at a master title level (equivalent to an IMDB URL) - All versions of a title would fall under this ID.
- EIDR Level 2 - ID's at a version title level. e.g. Director's Cut or Extended Edition vs Original.
- Thumbnail URL - Provide a thumbnail image to be associated with this title. Simply cut and paste the corresponding URL in the box provided.
- Short Synopsis - Provide a Short sentence explaining the plot or premise of the film. Should be no longer than 1000 characters.
- Long Synopsis - Provide a Short paragraph explaining the plot or premise of the film in more detail.
Once the form is filled out, click the "Finish" to finalize.
If the title was successfully created a green confirmation pop-up will appear at the top of the page and title will be searchable in the UI.
