In this article, we'll be going over how to perform an advanced search for assets, while also providing information on all required fields.
To use the advance search, click on the sliding icon to the right of the search bar at the top of the page.
Click on the Assets tab and fill out the Assets Search form.
- Keyword - Keywords in helping narrow the search.
- Provider - Service or studio who provided the asset.
- Created - The range of dates the asset was created.
- Updated - The range of dates the asset was last updated.

Adding Conditions
Users can refine the results further by adding condition. This can be done by clicking on the gray "Add another condition" box.
It adds three more fields that allow users to add additional parameters.
Select Metadata - A dropdown menu that allows users to select the type of metadata to search for or exclude, depending on the modifier chosen.
Select Modifier - A list of modifiers to help narrow down and further define a search when paired with the other two fields.
- Equals - Used for more exact searches.
- Is Blank - Used when searching for assets with specific metadata that is blank.
- Like - Similar to. Used when searching for multiple assets that are similar without having to use multiple modifiers. When using this modifier, the Select Value space becomes an open text field to type into.
- Not Equals - Used when excluding search results.
- Not Like - Not similar to. Used when wanting to exclude certain assets from search results. When using this modifier, the Select Value space becomes an open text field to type into.
Select Value - *requires metadata & modifier to be selected* The dropdown will change depending on the metadata and modifier selected.
A few examples are provided, along with the type of results the user can expect.
- Language + Equals + English (US) = Will bring up results for assets in that language.
- Canvas Aspect Ratio + Is Blank = List of assets with Canvas Aspect Ratio is left blank.
- Video Codec + Like + ProRes 422 = List of Assets with ProRes 422
- Ingest Status + Not Equals + Complete = List of assets with whose ingest status has not been marked as complete.
- Audio Codec + Not Like + MP3 = All Assets that are not MP3's
Multiple conditions can be set in the same search. Clicking on the "add another condition" after the current one is filled out will provide fields to fill out for more comprehensive results.
To remove a condition field, simply hit the minus button located on the right-hand side of those condition fields.
If multiple conditions are selected, a new constraint will appear. Users can select if they want all of their conditions to apply to their results or any.
- All - Will only bring up results that match with all conditions placed.
- Any - Will bring up results that match with any of one of the results placed.
Search Results
By default, PDX will only return active assets. Users can toggle "include deleted assets" or "include QC reports" if those assets are desired. Once complete, click the blue search button on the bottom right-hand side of the window to view search results.
Searching will bring users to the asset search results page. While on this page one can restore, replace or delete assets. Users can also export a report by clicking on the button on the top right.
