Needs Title

  • Updated

In this article, we will go over navigating the Asset Ingest page for items with the Needs Title status.

Through this page, users can easily view, search, and update all PDX assets that are missing a title. We'll provide information on all fields and what they can be used for.

Navigating Needs Title

Once a user clicks on any of the numbers adjacent to the Needs Title Status; the user will notice, on the left of the page, is the list of providers with assets pending title.

To the right of those providers are the number of assets pending title in each of eight categories.

  • All Types - All Assets for that provider.
  • Video - Video Assets.
  • Audio - Audio Assets.
  • CC/Sub - Close Captions/Subtitles.
    • Includes Forced Narratives and SDH Assets.
  • Image - All title artwork assets.
  • Doc - Documents associated with open orders.
  • QC Report - Reports provided from the QC (quality control) of Assets.
  • Other/Unknown - Assets that don't fall in the above categories.
  • Font - Font files used with assets
  • Archive/Project - .tar or archive file formats that represent large amounts of work that need to be unpacked and ingested.

Clicking on any number from this graph, including in the bolded total section, will load all corresponding assets at the bottom of the page.

From the list of assets that appear, one can choose to change several at a time by clicking the check mark icons on the left. When active, they appear blue.

Users have the ability to leave notes on any assets.

Asset Type

Users have the ability to define asset type, both individually and in bulk. Click on Select Type to open a drop-down menu. The user should verify that they are selecting the correct information by referring to their SOP or Internal/Provider documentation.

Deciding an Asset type will provide many options.

Depending on what is selected, more fields will appear. The user should refer to their SOP or Provider information to make sure they are making the proper selections.

Select Title

For title, click on the blue Select Title button to bring up a Search for title bar.

The user should select the correct Title Type to associate the asset with. After selecting the title type, the user will see a new field appear to allow them to search for a title of that type. Switching between the TV, Film, Trailer, and Bonus in the provided field allows users to view corresponding titles.

If a user begins typing in this space, it will immediately bring up similar results to select from.

Triage

Clicking on the little circle icon under Triage allows one to send selected file(s) to Client Services, when we can't take an asset for whatever reason (e.g., Asset corrupted, can't determine asset type, does not meet spec etc.)

Once clicked, it will bring another pop up menu. There one can choose from the drop-down menu why the asset is being triaged and a space for a note for a more detailed explanation.

Please note that Triage reasons can not be selected in bulk.

Asset Actions

Next is the Action column. Clicking the Select Action field allows you to send selected files to Mastering. Under Needs title, this is the only action available.

Although Actions can be performed in bulk, the user must first apply an Asset Type and Title.

Action Buttons

Slightly above these fields, to the Right of the Screen, several gray buttons.

  • Clicking on the one with the magnifying glass icon allows a user to type in and search keywords to more easily filter through the search results.
  • The arrow pointing to the side icon is the CSV Report button. Clicking on it allows the user to download a report with all information on the asset by provider page.
    • After clicking this button, the user's page will change to “My Jobs” where the user will see their job located among others that are either completed or in queue.

Once the job is completed, the user will receive a notification via Email, the UI, and if they refresh the page the user will see a “Download” link.

  • To commit changes made, the user should click the arrow point up icon will turn blue when active, and will only be active after changes have been made to one or more of the assets on the list. Clicking it will upload and make active the changes made in PDX.
  • When one or more assets are marked with the blue checkmark, a fourth gray icon appears. The trash can icon will delete assets selected when clicked.

Once clicked, the user will see a confirmation pop-up.

Please note, if an asset selected doesn't have its Type/Title associated, the delete button will appear but not be clickable.
