Triage is where assets are sent to be reviewed by Client Services. These assets include items that users can't ingest for whatever reason. (e.g., Asset corrupted, can't determine asset type, does not meet spec etc.)
Navigating Asset Triage
To navigate to the Triage Assets page, the user must click “Asset Ingest” under Assets in the PDX UI.
On the next page, the user will see various items of different statuses. Among them, “Triage” status. To view the assets in Triage, click the adjacent linked (blue) number in the table. The user has the option of selecting assets that were provided within a certain frame of time.
On the next page, the information on the Triage Assets page is divided by provider and type of asset.
The user also has the option of filtering the assets using the filter in the upper right.
In the assets table; to the right of the providers are the number of assets pending title in each of eight categories.
- All Types - All Assets for that provider.
- Video - Video Assets.
- Audio - Audio Assets.
- CC/Sub - Close Captions and Subtitles, but also includes Forced Narratives and SDH Assets.
- Image - All title artwork assets.
- Doc - Documents associated with open orders.
- QC Report - Reports provided when checking assets for quality control.
- Other/Unknown - Assets that don't fall in the above categories.
- Font - Font files used with assets
- Archive/Project - .tar or archive file formats that represent large amounts of work that need to be unpacked and ingested.
Clicking on any number from this graph, including in the bolded total section, will load all corresponding assets at the bottom of the page.
Asset Actions
From the list of assets that appear, one can choose to change several at a time by clicking the check mark icons on the left. When active, they appear blue.
Next to that is the paper icon, a user can click to check or leave notes.
An example of a new note:
Under asset type, one can see the file name in blue. Clicking the filename will bring up the Asset Details window, where one can view and edit all metadata for this asset.
For a more detailed overview of the Asset Details window, view the needs metadata assets by provider (article or section).
For title, one will either find the title the asset is for, or a blue “Select Title” button. Either way, clicking on the title or the blue Select Title button will bring up a Search for title bar.
In this space, a user can type and select a title. Switching between the TV, Film, Trailer, and Bonus in the provided field allows users to view corresponding titles.
Under Reason, one can find a short explanation of why the asset was sent to triage.
Triage reasons include:
- Asset Corrupt
- Can't determine Asset Type
- Can't determine Title
- Does not meet spec
- Duplicate File Detected
- Other / Unknown
Next is the Action column. Clicking the Select Action field allows a user to restore the asset, or send selected asset to Delete, Mastering, Metadata, or Title.
Slightly above these fields to the Right of the Screen are three gray buttons.
Clicking on the one with the magnifying glass icon allows a user to type in and search keywords to more easily filter through the search results.
The arrow point up icon will turn blue when active, and will only be active after changes have been made to one or more of the assets on the list. Clicking it will commit changes to the assets made in PDX.
CSV Reports
Clicking on the CSV Report button allows the user to download a report with all information on the asset by provider page.
Once the user clicks on the CSV Report button, it will take the user to the jobs page where they may track the AssetCSVExport.
Deleting or Restoring Assets
When one or more assets are marked with the blue checkmark, two more icons appear. Clicking on the trash can icon will delete assets selected, and the Restore Assets button will download the asset from our storage server onto our working server for production use.
