PDX Title Pages now offers the ability to add additional and descriptive title types within the Localizations tab. These categorizations include the following:
- Additional
- Descriptive
First, navigate to a title's page through the global search bar where we can go to that particular title page. Once there, navigate to the Localizations tab:
On the localizations tab, scroll down to the Title drop-down menu. Expand the menu.
To add a new title type with this updated functionality, select the "Add New" button by clicking the arrow of the title list. Once a user enters a language into the "Language field", the "Add Title Type" button will appear.
Upon selecting the "Add Title Type button, a new row will appear with a "Type" and "Alternate Name" text field. These subtypes will only apply to the localized title it is created under.
The subtypes include:
- Additional - For creating localized titles with varying names.
- Additional Phonetic - For creating localized titles with phonetic spellings.
- Descriptive - For extending a title to include localization. (For example, "Latin Spanish - Title Name")
- Descriptive Phonetic - For extending a title to include phonetic spellings.
- Phonetic - For spelling out titles with a localized language's phonetic spelling.
These subtypes will only apply to the localized title it is created under. For example, if a user wanted to create a title type for a pre-existing localized title, they would select the blue circle below the "Alternate Name" column.
To add more title types, the user can navigate to the Title drop-down and click the "Add Title Type" button. Upon selection, a user could create a variety of new localized title types such as "Arabic (ar)" as seen in the example above.
The user could select Phonetic and type the phonetic spelling of the Arabic characters seen above.
